here, have some more
allright, by now you've all got to realize that i'm a terrible person, and constantly forget to post when i tell myself to. i'm trying! there's a lot to post, and it's all a little daunting from time to time.
kidding, i'm just lazy and busy.
top 5 currently wicked tunes:
1. The Joel Plaskett Emergency - Nowhere With You
2. Modest Mouse - Summer
3. Ocean Colour Scene - Riverboat Song
4. Tangiers - Ping Pong
5. the Subhumans - Can't Hear the Words
top 3 currently wicked bands:
MOOG ROCK/ALT ROCK
Duchess Says - this foursome from Quebec spring from the Church of Budgerigars (eyebrows a-raised? "The Church of Budgerigars was created to promote the Duchess (or spiritual budgie) and spread its values through sophisticated and elaborate information programs. The church proposes a vast range of products and services including psychic lines, numerology, geomancy, religious shop, the Budgie Laboratories and, principally, our rock band, Duchess Says."...ok...).
But the band's solid, and has that little thing that we've all been listening to lately. the female lead vocals, slightly new wave sound with a hard undertone mixed with strangeness.
wicked lyrics: (i'm sorry, try as i might, i can't distinctly hear the words [although, the music is still wicked], and there are no sites that have Duchess Says lyrics)
wicked song: Rabies
reminds me of: Sonic Youth vs. the Yeah Yeah Yeahs
PUNK REVIVAL
U.S. Bombs - this amazing fivesome are rather old news, but this is the first time i'm mentioning them, so it's all new to this site. they released their first studio album in 1996 (holy...10 years ago). They're good, trust me, and if you're into any form of punk or punk revival, then this is definitly a band for you.
wicked lyrics: "claim to fame is calling your name / Mr. Microphone / one bag for a business man on mommys loan..."
wicked song: Underdogs
reminds me of: the Clash meets Rancid
"PUNK ROCK"/POP-PUNK
The Fully Down - this group from Ottawa are a six-man wonder to those who are looking to bands to be the new Iron Maiden. they've got a very distinct sound, being that they sound like a lot of other bands with the same distinct sound. they're not very good, but i thought i'd post about them so you all realize what i go through for you! they're ok, i suppose.
wicked lyrics: "do they sleep in the sand for our crimes? was it worth the distance? will it make a difference tonight? we are running out of options."
wicked song: We Are All Accomplices
reminds me of: Sum41, Yellowcard...
ok, there's the good and the bad. i strongly suggest checking out Duchess Says, i see big things for them and their budgies.

I received a wonderful message on my cell phone the other day about a lucky bird who did NOT get eaten by a horrible truck monster.... however...in that truly amazing message, i did not get the telephone number of the story teller ..... so please, if you happen to know who left me the message, tell her to give me a return number next time.
What an unusual comment...
i saved that poor little birdypoo's life!! i swear, if it wasn't for me lunging at the truckmonster to not for-the-love-of-jeebus turn that engine on, that little birdypoo would be no more.
and my number is...wait, didn't my grade 6 teacher tell me not to tell people my number online? the last thing i need is more random people calling me. but OH OH OH!!! We're having a MOVIE NITE on saturday, and rox, you are of course invited. so are you, scott.
love and buckets
Ever think of updating?!?!
